1. Give at least two examples, with details from the text, from the chapters you chose to read in the Iliad or the Odyssey that show that poem has the elements of an epic. Then show how those elements are also present in some contemporary “epic”–a book, movie, TV series. Write at least 5 good sentences
2. Choose one book from the Iliad. (BUT NOT THE FIRST BOOK—So many students have picked the first book in the past that I am tired of reading about it….look around in the text,.,,pick a chapter that interests you). Show how characters in that book have relationships and conflicts with a god or gods , and relationships and conflicts with other characters. Explain in at least 5 sentences, with details from the text, how these conflicts are connected and resolved.
