Enclosure, also spelled Inclosure, the division or consolidation of communal fields, meadows, pastures, and other arable lands in western Europe into the carefully delineated and individually owned and managed farm plots of modern times.
Your assignment is simple: take a look around your world and think for a few minutes. Do you see anything else that fits the logic of enclosure, in the broad sense given here? That is, the use of otherwise-public goods, services, energies, lands for cost-free private gain? Write a paragraph or two (no fewer than 200 words, no more than 500 words) about it: what is it?
