Compared with other stages of the life span, far less research attention has been given to middle adulthood (Lachman, Teshale, & Agrigoroaei, 2015). One attempt to remedy this lack of research is the Midlife in the United States (MIDUS) project, a longitudinal study looking at health and well-being in midlife.
