Answer each of the following reflection prompts as individual questions (not essay format). Reflections should be made
including all the locations you visited meaning you should be able to compare and contrast the different locations. Each
question should be no less than a half page in length (200-300 words; double spaced; Times New Roman; APA style).
1. Inclusion: What groups of human diversity did the statement focus on? Find every group that seems to be
included under the non-discrimination statement, then talk about the groups that are not protected. In your
response, explain why the groups were likely left out, using theories centered around prejudice, representation,
privilege, and invisibility. Be sure to cite at least one research article in this response (it may be one of our
readings or not). Finally, make an attempt to see if this company is known for inclusion or not. This could come
from testimonials, complaints, or published company demographics (make sure to cite your sources).
2. Definitions and language: How does the statement define the concepts it talks about? First, discuss the way it
defines groups. Is there any ambiguity? Refer to your answer to one for groups that may be left out due to
ambiguity. Then, look for how it defines any and all of the big concepts from this class: Stereotyping, prejudice,
and discrimination. Finally, provide how you think a non-discrimination statement should define these 3 ideas
(providing citations and references) then provide feedback on if you think this non-discrimination statement meets
your criteria. Again, you need to cite at least one piece of psychological literature, but more is better.
3. Enforcement: How is the non-discrimination statement enforced? This part can be tricky to find, so you may
need to click around on the business HR page to find it. I want you to discuss both the reporting and
repercussions sides of this idea. For instance, is reporting done to the HR department? Is there a way to report
anonymously? Using any theory or theories that focus on the experience of the target, explain what you think the
ideal form of reporting would be, and then use that as a rubric to evaluate the policy you have chosen.
