The Delayed Airplanes Dataset consists of airplane flights from Washington D.C. into New York City. This dataset can be downloaded by clicking here (United States Department of Transportation, Bureau of Transportation Statistics, TranStats).
Select the domestic market for your analysis. In this dataset are airplane flights between NYC and D.C.
If there is a delay of 15 minutes or more, then code the delay variable so that (0 = no delay and 1 = delay). For the predictor variable, use the following:
The arrival airports of Newark, Kennedy, LaGuardia, and Newark
Departure airports (Baltimore, Dulles, and Reagan)
Hours of departure
Monday = 1, Tuesday = 2, …Tuesday = 7
For this dataset, you will use the Bayesian method to determine an estimate of on-time arrival.
Provide the code and description of how you used Bayesian for this assignment.
