I do not need a five-paragraph essay from you. I do need clear and precise writing. I need a thesis. I need you to support your thesis. I do not need long blocks of text, grouped into giant paragraphs. Instead, break it up into smaller paragraphs – it’ll look much better that way.
I need to see that you have a basic and consistent understanding of grammar. I will promote the editing process this year, and so by the time I grade your essays on a deeper level, I would hope that all of your grammar and mechanics are cleaned up and looking solid.
