Second essay (policy)
The required length is 1,200 words, with a margin of +/- 10%, excluding footnotes and the bibliography.
You will write on ONE of the following topics. The essay will address a policy challenge and require the student to suggest a possible ‘nudge’ and design a test for its effectiveness.
What are some ways the federal government could maximise the take-up of the coronavirus (third) booster shot? At least one should draw on standard economics and at least one on behavioural science. Which option(s) would you recommend and why?
**(PLEASE NOTE IT IS SPEAKING ABOUT THE AUSTRALIAN FEDERAL GOVERNMENT, ALSO SOME OF THE TOPICS WE HAVE GONE OVER INCLUDE
– RISK AND UNCERTAINTY
-HEURISTICS AND BIASES
– PROSPECT THEORY
– INTERTEMPORAL CHOICE
– NUDGES
– BEHAVIOURAL FINANCE
– STANDARD GAME THEORY
– BEHAVIOURAL GAME THEORY
– NEUROECONOMICS
So maybe including some of these topics from the unit which is ‘behavioural science’ will help strengthen the essay. Just including a little bit of one in to make it look like we’ve been following the unit.**
