Public Land Transfer

As we learned from our guest speaker, public lands transfer is an old issue in the west, and one that is increasingly a polarizing political issue. Your assignment is to research the issue and develop an opinion based on the guest speaker, course readings and at least three outside sources.

REMEMBER to write in APA format and in the 3rd person. Papers are expected to be 4-5 pages MINIMUM. Opinions MUST be supported by your sources. A recording of the speaker may be found above.

A proper opinion paper consists of five parts:

Introductory Paragraph – contains an introduction, three reasons for your opinion, and a thesis statement. Be sure to define accreditation and certification.
Examples Paragraph – develops your first reason by giving examples.
Facts Paragraph – develops your second reason by providing facts and statistics found in your research.
Third Reason Paragraph – develops your third reason by giving examples.
Conclusion – restate your thesis statement and summarize your three reasons.
