Pick an Issue-Poverty in young children

In the Week 1 “Heads Up,†you were asked to research an issue in Early Childhood important to you, your families, and your community. Initially, you were instructed to come up with a list of 5-10 issues you felt were important. In Chicago Illinois
Low-income community, Hunger, Homelessness, children with special needs, grandparents as main caregivers, aggression and violence at home, Poverty in young children, and police discrimination. The second part of your research included reaching out to educators and parents to elicit responses based on the list you created. From this feedback, you should be able to identify the top priority issue in your community.
Write 2-3 pages about what you discovered over the last two weeks. Include your initial list of 5-10 topics and a summary of themes/threads from your feedback. Include your topic choice based on the feedback you received. Address the following questions in your summary explaining your final topic choice (Note: this is the issue you will be working on for the remainder of the course.):
As you researched what issue to pursue, did the people you talked to introduce new ideas and topics? Explain.
Did your expectations about issues correspond with the conversations you had and the responses you received? Explain.
