Person perceptions (first impressions)
1- The purpose of this assignment is to familiarize yourself with the library databases.
From Dallas College website, scroll to the bottom of the page, then at the bottom left click the link marked Libraries.
Click on the link titled Articles, Journals (databases).
Select Academic Search Complete (you may be asked to log in).
You will then search for a minimum of one article about the subject matter you selected for your paper.
The parameters (requirements) of your search should be – Under Limit Your Results click the boxes that say, References Available, and Scholarly (Peer Reviewed) Journals. Under Geography you should
Put the last five years in the date blanks (2016-2021) years only.
Put the topic you are searching for in the search but write it as Psychology of Your Topic.
Once you have a reference selected. You will use the Citation and Reference Instructions Template Attached to this assignment, substitute your information for the materials on the page, be sure and follow the instructions exactly.
2- For this assignment you will complete an APA Cover Page, and write the first section of your term paper. You will do this using an instructional template. The template is attached and you must follow it closely to receive a good score.
The template is the same as the one you will complete for the Term Paper, which you will do next, for this assignment you will be personalizing page 1 and page 3. Page one is the cover sheet, page three is the Introduction page, do not do anything with page two yet, you will complete the abstract when you finish the paper.
3-This is the assignment where you will put together your final term paper. There are certain things you should remember, first this is a major grade worth 100 points, the grade is half for the content and half for doing APA style. You must follow the instructions provided and the template to do well. You should not wait till the last minute to do this assignment.
You should cite your sources often throughout the document in every single part of your paper, preferably multiple times, everytime you take information from a source you must give the author(s) credit. Examples of giving credit include, Smith and Jones (2020) found that crows were the smartest bird. Or, Research shows that crows were much more intelligent than people who skydive (Smith & Jones, 2020).
You should not put titles of journals or articles into your paper, they only go in the references.
No direct quotes are allowed. No questions are allowed (you are giving information, not asking for it). No first or second person pronouns except you may use first person singular in your Critical Analysis secton. Do not add headings, but use the headings shown on the template, you must use the headings shown in the template.
To get credit you must do the minimum length required, a cover page, an abstract page with an abstract of 150-250 words, a minimum of one full page Introduction, two to three page minimum Literature Review, and Critical Analysis of one full page. you must also have a reference page.
Your SafeAssign percentage should not exceed 25%.
