Extra Credit

2. The second choice for extra credit assignment is to conduct a survey or make an interview with an immigrant. This assignment will allow us seeing real life environment relevant to course subject and gaining first-hand experience. After conducting an interview, students may post the interview content to the related area on the Blackboard where other students can see and read. If the subjects interviewed have consent for recording, even these interviews can be recorded and posted. The survey questionnaire or open-ended interview questions should be derived from the main points of the assigned readings and including demographic questions and immigrants’ perspective to crime and victimization issues. Students who decide to complete this assignment they should inform instructor a week before the final week and post their video, interview transcript, or survey result on Blackboard before the last day of the course. For survey questionnaire ten to fifteen open-ended questions would be sufficient. However, the responses should not be yes/no or just a single sentence. The assignment will be evaluated by an instructor generated rubric.
