After you have read your sources, you will write a 5-paragraph classification paper of approximately 500-550 words.
In the introduction, you should write background information about the topic [Include details which are descriptive]. Include a definition of a key term. Finally, you should end the paragraph with a thesis statement discussing the three categories of the classification you chose.

You will use evidence such as facts, statistics, expert opinion, and examples to support the topic sentence. Finally, write a conclusion sentence to finish the paragraph.
The conclusion should include a restatement of your thesis statement that shows a deeper understanding of the sports classification you just wrote about. State why it was important to categorize the topic the way you did. Additionally, you should write a couple of sentences expressing a final thought regarding the categories you mentioned.
As this is a writing course, you will be assessed on your writing ability. Use paraphrasing techniques to avoid plagiarism. This means that you cannot copy from your sources. If you don’t either use in-text citations, or write a reference page, you will be penalized. If you lack in-text citations AND a reference page, your paper will be deemed plagiarized and will receive a ZERO (0). Additionally, a list of deductions will be attached to the rubric.
