Current Event Assignment:
This assignment is worth 15% of your final grade. Ten (10) current events
related to Beaches and Coasts are required to complete this assignment. Current
events may be taken from newspapers, magazines or reputable Internet sources.
Topics are your choice and can deal with any topic on our course syllabus.
Articles dealing with beaches and coasts, include new geological research,
natural disasters, climate change and other newsworthy items.
Assignment Format: For each current event, copy and paste-in the URL and
title of the article. Then write 3-4 sentences summarizing your reaction/
reflection on the topic with respect to what you learned in class. I am not
looking for a summary of the article, I am looking for your thoughts.
The complete assignment is to be sent to me in one document, via email,
readable as a Word document or .pdf.
The completed assignment is due on Tuesday, 24 August by 11:59 PM.
