Meet with the child you met with last week who’s between the ages of three and six. **Administer the Kindergarten Concepts of Print Assessment ***(Concordia University, n.d.) to the child, using a children’s book of your choice.
Write a 2-3 paragraphs concerning the child’s knowledge of concepts of print.
Paragraph 1: Pseudonym for the child (it is important you do not use the child’s real name), the child’s age, the book being used, and an overview of the meeting.
Paragraph 2: Comment on the findings of the assessment. How many items were correct? Which items did the child miss? Which items were the child unsure about? How did you do as the administrator of the assessment?
Paragraph 3: Based on your findings, what would you teach next? Explain. How will you teach it? Please give your rationale for selecting as you did. Also, comment on the usefulness of this assessment in your current or future teaching practices.
