The online database you can use is here: http://www.cemeteries-of-tx.com/etx/denton/listdenton.html (Links to an external site.) . Feel free to choose one that is near to your community.
IOOF cemetery in central Denton is here: http://www.cemeteries-of-tx.com/etx/denton/cemetery/ioofd%20A-B.htm (Links to an external site.). We have used IOOF cemetery data in the past and it works well.
If using IOOF cemetery or some other large cemetery please choose a single letter or two to look at. A smaller cemetery like Zion near Frisco can be used in its entirety. The activity suggests at least 50 persons. That is 25 in each cohort.
Please remind yourself of the field trip safety tips in the safety manual if you choose to visit a cemetery to personally gather data.
You can use Excel instead of the data table in the handout to keep up with your data and make your graphs.
Turn in Data Tables 1,2 and your survivorship curve as one document using the Carrying Capacity Submission Link.
